Commitment to Safety and the Environment

Van Diest Supply Company is an ISO 14001 registered company. ISO 14001 is an internationally recognized environmental management system. Van Diest Supply Company’s safety and environmental policy states “Van Diest Supply Company will not formulate, apply, store, sell, transport or dispose of a product unless we can do so in a manner safe to our employees, our customers and the environment.” Bob Van Diest has often stated, “If we can’t do it right, we won’t do it at all."

Van Diest Supply Company employs a full time Safety Director and a full time Safety & Facility Coordinator to lead our safety programs. The Safety Director and Safety & Facility Coordinator and employee Safety Committees provide direction and training to our employees in our comprehensive safety program. Van Diest Supply Company has been awarded the Iowa Governor’s Safety Award for 18 consecutive years and has earned the DuPont Company’s Safe Shipper Award for each of the last 11 years. Van Diest Supply Company utilizes a variety of safety programs for continuous safety improvement to provide a safe working environment for our team members.

Van Diest Supply Company is committed to quality in everything we do. Our quality policy states “Van Diest Supply Company is committed to providing products and services that consistently meet or exceed the expectations of our customers.” This has been the driving force in our commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.

Van Diest Supply Company’s formulation and bulk terminal operations are registered under ISO 9000-2000. The ISO standards address 18 facets of quality management and quality assurance as well as continuous improvement in these areas. Van Diest Supply Company achieved ISO 9002 registration in July 1992 and was the first contract formulator and bulk terminal facility in the United States to receive ISO registration. Van Diest Supply Company upgraded to the new ISO 9000-2000 standards in January 2003.

Van Diest Supply Company’s formulation, product development and bulk terminal operations are backed by an experienced staff of trained chemists and technicians and state-of-the-art equipment in our quality control laboratories. Our analytical capabilities include GC, HPLC and LC Mass Spectrometer.
